Are no bake cheesecakes good?

No-bake cheesecakes have a lighter texture compared to traditional baked cheesecakes. They are made with cream cheese, whipped cream, etc. Light, fluffy, and a sweet and tangy flavor, just as you would like in a classic cheesecake. They are always a hit in our books.

The Mason Jars we Use

We like to use 4-ounce mason jars and we find that works great for making the serving size. Feel free to make larger if you would prefer.

Ingredients Needed

Oreo Crust

  • Crushed Oreos – You will crush your cookies with a food processor. Or add cookies to a Ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. You want to make sure it is fine crumbs.
  • Butter – The butter is the binder to the Oreo crumbs, so that it creates a nice crust.

Cream Cheese Mixture

  • Instant Chocolate Pudding – we recommend using a hand mixer or electric mixer to achieve a nice, thick, and creamy texture.
  • Milk – Whole milk will offer the most decadent flavor to the cheesecake batter.
  • Cream Cheese – For these no-bake cheesecake jars, you need to make sure you are using softened cream cheese. Otherwise, it will not be velvety smooth.
  • Sugar – Granulated sugar is what you will want to add for a nice hint of sweetness.
  • Whipped Topping – Buy Cool Whip or whip up your own with a cup of heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar.

Topping Ideas

  • Crushed Oreo bits
  • Candy of your choice (chop into bites)
  • Sprinkles
  • Hot Fudge Caramel Sauce, or other sauce of choice
  • Whipped Cream

Tips & Tricks

  • Swap the cookies. You can use crushed graham crackers, shortbread cookies, or Golden Oreos for the crust. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to sweeten the crust.
  • Use flavored pudding. It’s fine to use any flavor of pudding. They offer Oreo pudding, or you can opt for traditional options like vanilla or cheesecake flavors.
  • Make in a pie pan. If you don’t have jars, you can use this recipe and put it into a 9-inch pie pan.

Do we have to bake the cheesecake?

No, this chocolate cheesecake with Oreo crust recipe is no-bake! You put it together, chill, and serve.

How long do Oreo cheesecake jars last?

They will last in the fridge for up to 5 days.

It’s fine to eat right away if you want. We recommend chilling so the crust has time to set up. If you skip refrigerating, they will have a loose crust, but they taste the same.
