All Purpose Flour – You will cook the flour to kill off any harmful bacteria. That will make this a safe raw dough to eat.

Unsalted Butter – Make sure to use real butter not margarine. If you use salted butter then omit the salt in the recipe.

White Sugar – Granulated sugar is the sweetener to the cookie dough. If you wanted to make sugar free use your usual artificial sweetener.

Milk – Regular milk or even a plant based milk will work.

Vanilla Extract and Almond Extract – We love both of these extracts. They will help to give you that sugar cookie flavor.

Expert Tips for Success

  • You can use a hand mixer to blend up the butter and sugar. If not use a whisk and make sure to mix well. The electric mixer will help speed up the process and give your mixture that light color that is ultra fluffy.
  • Pre-cooking the flour is a must, as flour contains dangerous bacteria that can make you sick if you eat it raw. So baking the flour first ensures this is an edible cookie dough recipe.
  • This is not a regular cookie dough where you bake the dough for actual cookies. This is a sweet treat you eat uncooked.
  • Add in some white chocolate chips to sweeten it up even more.
  • Break up candies and stir in the dough instead of sprinkles.
  • Try out any type of different mix-ins to create a twist to your usual cookies. Peanut butter, chocolate chips, and so much more can be added.
  • Make small balls of sugar cookie dough and place on ice cream to elevate the dough even more.

Storing Leftovers

Refrigerate: Store this dough in an airtight container in the fridge. It will store for up to a week in the fridge. This is a fun treat that you can go take a scoop or two out of it when you get a craving for sweet.

Freezing: You can also freeze this dough. Place the cookie dough in a freezer-safe container or wrap in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag. Freeze for 2-3 months. When you are ready to eat thaw in the fridge overnight.
