Storing Leftovers

If you happen to not eat the rest of your potatoes they will store in the fridge for 3-4 days. Then warm up as you would like.

For freezing you can place in a proper container or sealed bag and freeze for 2-3 months. The texture will change a bit once you reheat but we have found it still tastes well.

Practical notes

What can we use Gouda for?

Gouda is a cheese that is awesome for melting. Mix in some gouda cheese for mashed potatoes, topping baked chicken, cheesy soups, etc. You can also slice and serve gouda on a meat and cheese board, and so much more.

What type of potatoes to use for mashed potatoes?

Russets and Yukon Golds are the two potatoes that are popular for making mashed potatoes. The starches break down enough helping to give you that ultimate creamy mashed potato you are searching for. Other potatoes won’t provide that rich and creamy texture you want.

Can you make mashed potatoes in advance?
